A Christmas Carol

Lichfield Garrick, 29 Nov - 24 Dec 2021

We are seeking four exceptional performers for this fast-paced, creative and compact retelling of the Christmas classic.

Crammed into just 60 minutes, our three storytellers guide Scrooge along his path of redemption, as between them they play every major character along the way. Filled with music, songs, and the odd bit of audience interaction, the show aims to spook and entertain in equal measure, but ultimately gladden the hearts of audiences of all ages.

Actor 1, 2 and 3.

Our storytellers of the piece. Seeking three talented, versatile actors with a passion for physical storytelling, comedy and multi-rolling. Good with accents and full of great ideas to add to the creative process! Will need to be a confident singer and comfortable with multi-part harmonies. Any actor-musician skills would be great to see as well. There is some puppetry in the show so any puppetry experience a bonus.

Actor 2

Scrooge

Everyone’s favourite miser with a heart of gold and the lynchpin of the piece. Looking for an actor with enough gravitas and grounding to play the classic role; as comfortable with comedy as with pathos, and able to take the audience on an emotional journey in a short space of time. This is a fast paced, often frenetic production, so speed of thought and adaptability are key. Scrooge never really leaves the stage, so it’s a role that requires a great deal of energy.

Role: Ebenezer Scrooge

Age: 45-60

Description: The famous miser and central character of the piece.
